“Legends are not born — they are made.”
— Adapted from oral storytelling traditions

Step into a world of heroes, monsters, myths, and memory with Summer Theatre Intensive: Legends & Lore, a two-week immersive theatre experience designed for students ready to deepen their craft and challenge themselves as storytellers and performers.

This intensive invites young actors to explore legendary stories from across cultures — tales of courage, transformation, and impossible choices — and reimagine them through ensemble-driven theatre. Whether inspired by ancient myths, folktales, or newly invented legends, students will work collaboratively to build a bold, original performance rooted in story, movement, and shared imagination.

Under the guidance of storytellers Kyle Jozsa and Matt Dodds, participants will engage in rigorous ensemble work, physical and vocal training, and advanced storytelling practices. The first week will focus on world-building, character creation, and devising original material inspired by legendary narratives. During the second week, students will shift into rehearsal mode, refining scenes, strengthening performances, and preparing for live audiences.

This program is designed for students who have prior theatre experience or those eager to step into a more focused, higher-stakes environment than our traditional summer camp. Expect longer rehearsals, deeper collaboration, and a strong commitment to the ensemble.

The intensive will culminate in two free public performances, giving students the opportunity to share their work in a professional setting.
